Actually that cant be right, as the x-prize hasnt been claimed yet.
The price is still much (much) higher i'm afraid, i think you are confusing a full run (about 500 dollars) with a genome. a run with a miseq generates about 500 reads at 500 bp and the human genome is about 3.9 gb, and thats a single coverage, not the desired 30x coverage needed to make consise calls about snps etc. the miseq also needs about 40 hours for a single run.
but slowely we are getting nearer, if the oxford nanopore gets released maybe quicker, but the current best hope is the pacific bioscience sequencer, which is very recent and the first real 3rd generation sequencing tool. (helicos went under)
