T&C + House Rules

Terms and Conditions

  • A credit card is required to secure your booking. Payment of stay is made on arrival (excludes New Year Peak season, for additional terms, see below).
  • Policies and conditions of reservation and stay are subject to change over Mardi Gras, Christmas & New Years in addition to other special events period
  • Unless advised otherwise, we have not charged your credit card. Your credit card details have been collected to secure your reservation only and you will be required to pay all accommodation charges upon check-in. The credit card used to make the reservation must be presented upon check in.
  • A 1.5% surcharge is applicable on all card transactions, including contactless transactions.
  • All Guests checking-in to the hostel must present a valid form of identification (Driver’s License, Passport, or International ID Card). Failure to provide valid documents will result in denied check-in with no refund.
  • For last minute reservations (in periods of high demand) you may need to move rooms mid stay.
  • We do not accept guests under the age of 18 years of age.
  • 790 Guests only inside the building, strictly NO visitors.
  • We kindly request that no food be consumed in the rooms. Your cooperation in maintaining a comfortable and clean environment is greatly appreciated.
  • Any breach of the law (including smoking laws) will result in accommodation being cancelled immediately – with no refund.
  • A $10 key deposit is required from every guest and will be returned upon check-out before 11 am.
  • Checkout time is before 11 am, and check-ins are anytime after 2 pm.
  • Please note if booking more than 1 person into a dorm room, we cannot guarantee you will be in the same room. We will, however, try our best.

**Christmas & New Years – Special Conditions**

  • Reservations for the period between December 25th and January 3rd must be prepaid on December 1st or at the time of booking, whichever is earlier. We will reach out to you upon receiving the reservation.
  • During this period, minimum stays and special event rates will apply.
  • Please note that no arrivals or departures are allowed between December 30th and January 3rd.

 

**HOUSE RULES**

Arrivals & Departures

  • Check-In is available daily from 2 pm. If you arrive before this time, you can store your luggage at the hostel, and we’ll make every effort to accommodate an earlier check-in. The storage is on the guests own risk.
  • Guests checking out are required to vacate their rooms and complete the check-out process by 11 am. All personal belongings must be removed from the dorm/room by this time.
  • Complimentary luggage storage is offered exclusively on your day of arrival and departure.

Check-in

  • Please present a valid photo ID (International Passport, National ID Card, or Driver’s License) during check-in. If you fail to provide an acceptable ID, you won’t be able to check in.
  • Payment for accommodation is required in full upon arrival, or before if possible.
  • Once you’ve checked in, your rate/fee becomes non-refundable even if your stay is shortened.
  • The management reserves the right to cancel any booking that has not been fully paid for upon check-in.

Check Out

  • Check out is at 11am. If you check out late, you will be asked to pay for an extra night, so make sure you’re up and ready in time!

Payments & Credit Card Transactions

  • Please bring the credit card you used for booking when you check in, and the person who owns the card must be there too. We can’t charge your card automatically, so if you need to pre-pay, please arrange it with the 790 Management team ahead of time.
  • There’s a 1.5% surcharge on all card transactions, including contactless payments, to cover our banking fees.
  • If you have specific room requests or preferences, let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.

Room allocations

  • We don’t assign bed numbers, so we can’t guarantee top or bottom bunk beds. If that’s important, consider booking a private room.
  • Last-minute bookings during busy periods may require a room change during your stay.
  • In busy times, last-minute group bookings might not guarantee everyone the same room, but we’ll try our best!

Group Bookings

  • Bookings with more than 4 guests are considered a “group.”
  • To address your group’s accommodation needs, please contact reception.
  • Any group booking not approved by 790 in advance or appearing as separate bookings to evade group status, can be cancelled or denied at any time, before or upon arrival.
  • 790 will ask for a security deposit for large groups.
  • Separate cancellation and amendment policies apply to group bookings.
  • Any reservation not booked directly with the hostel and classifying as a group can be contacted by the hostel to communicate the applicable policies.

Room Key Cards

  • When you check in, you will be required to pay a $20 key deposit. You will need to keep your key card with you at all times. The card gives you access to the hostel, elevators, and your room. If you lose it, there’s a $20 charge for a replacement.
  • For the safety and security of all, Hostel Staff can ask to see your card at any time during your stay.

Age Restrictions

  • In accordance with our policies, this establishment operates exclusively as an 18 and older hostel, and reservations are not permissible for individuals under the age of 18. It is important to note that unlike certain hostels, we impose no upper age limit. The majority of our patrons fall within the age bracket of 18 to 30, and it is advised that guests may be assigned to top bunk accommodations.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Guests may cancel their reservation free of charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled arrival date. For cancellations made within 48 hours of the arrival date, the first night’s stay will be charged.

No Show Policy:

  • In the event of a no-show (guest not arriving on the scheduled date without prior notice), the full reservation amount for the first night will be charged to the credit card provided during booking, and the remaining nights will be cancelled. The room will be released for other bookings after the first night.
  • Group bookings and bookings for special events period will have a set of policies than the general cancellation policy please contact the Hostel directly for more details on reservation specific policy, if applicable.

Guest Behaviour

  • Ensuring the comfort, safety, and security of all guests is our top priority at 790. Guests who, in the staff’s opinion, compromise these aspects for others may be asked to leave the hostel premises without a refund. It is expected that guests show respect towards fellow guests, staff, local residents, and property.

No Smoking

  • Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited within the 790! Sydney building for the safety and well-being of all guests. Guests found violating this policy will be asked to leave the premises immediately without a refund.
  • Guests are not to burn any kind of incense or light any other items of such nature in rooms
  • It is crucial to note that triggering the fire alarm due to smoking or any other reasons will result in a $2500 call-out fee, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe environment for all.

Fire Equipment (Regulations)

  • Tampering with fire equipment is a serious offense. Guests caught interfering with detectors, alarms, or fire extinguishers will be responsible for fines and repairs. They will be asked to leave immediately without a refund. Setting off the fire alarm incurs a $2500 call-out fee.

Drugs & Alcohol

  • Using drugs is against the law in Australia. If we find a guest using drugs in the building, they will be asked to leave right away, and no refund will be given.
  • Using NOS Canisters (Nangs) will lead to being removed from our property.
  • Alcohol consumption – Alcohol consumption in the hostel is permitted in the kitchen common area between 2pm & 10pm only. Alcohol must not be kept or consumed in the room at any time. Any alcohol found in the rooms will be confiscated and returned upon checkout.

Personal Property

  • Lockers for small valuable items are located in each dorm room. It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure that their personal belongings are secure at all times. 790 accept no liability for the loss, theft or damage to guests’ property, however sustained or caused. We strongly recommend you bring a padlock to use with your luggage & backpack.
  • Guests are not to charge lithium ion batteries for e-bike, scooter or such devices in the room.

Damage to 790 Property

  • Guests will be expected to reimburse 790 for any damage caused by inappropriate behaviour during their stay.

Liability

  • Subject to cases of death or personal injury resulting from our negligence, 790’s liability is always restricted to the total value of the booked services, excluding any amendment charges paid to us.

Errors and Omissions

  • We reserve the right to rectify any omission or error in sales literature, web pages, order forms, quotations, price lists, order acknowledgments, dispatch notes, invoices, or other documents issued by us without incurring liability. Any corrections will be communicated to you at the time of booking or as promptly as is reasonably feasible thereafter.

Discretion

  • All bookings are subject to availability and 790 reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.
