1. Train: Takes about 15 mins, and can cost AUD 17(depending on peak hour times). Just grab the train from the Airport to the Iconic Central Station. From Central Station take the Eddy Avenue exit at the North Concorse. Walk left down Eddy Avenue to Sydney’s main street – George Street. We are the green heritage building, our entrance is just before George Street. Right above Happy Travels and the famous Five Star Kebabs.
2. Taxi: If you have a lot of bags a taxi is a good option but can take 30-40 mins, and costs anywhere from AUD 25-40. A cab might be the easiest way to get to the city and if you share it with a friend it would even be the cheapest option. But try and avoid cabs during peak hours.
3. Airport Shuttle: Similar to a taxi a bus can take 30-60 mins, but is cheaper only costing AUD 12-22. There are a few companies that would drop you off in front of the hostel. Make sure you check prices before you board. We recommend AirBus Airport Shuttle. It’s cheap as chips and reliable! We even book trips on the way back to the airport once you’re done exploring Sydney and ready for the next part of your adventure!
4. Uber: We all know Uber is a great option for getting around so from the Airport to the hostel is a great option. Download the app, type in 790 George Street, sit back and enjoy the ride!
**Right now there are a lot of roadworks happening in the city, so we actually recommend where possible to get the train to avoid costly detours & traffic. If you are getting a taxi or Uber you can ask them to drop you off on George Street near Happy Travels or at St. Lawrence Lane which is just beside the hostel. **
5. Walking?: Takes 1hr30mins-2hrs, and yes it’s Free but we won’t advise it at all. Especially not with a backpack! It has been done though!
